   James J. Gladys, Esquire:

-“Jim"

-earned a BA in Applied History with a minor in Administrative and Management Science from Carnegie Mellon University in 1979.

-earned a Juris Doctorate degree from Ohio Northern University in 1982. While in law school, worked as law library assistant and directed a student run legal clinic in Findlay, Ohio.  Handled first child custody trial and numerous divorce, motor vehicle and minor criminal matters while working at the clinic.  Prepared income tax returns for eligible clients as part of the IRS VITA program.

-admitted to the PA bar and the Federal District Court for Western PA in 1982.

-current practice areas are primarily litigation and trials of all varieties, including, but not limited to family (divorce, support, custody), business, real estate and minor criminal matters.

-computer literate (hardware and software) and utilizes technology.

-began PA legal career in 1983 as a staff attorney for Laurel Legal Services in Greensburg, PA, litigating on behalf of indigent clients in family law and administrative matters.  From 1985 through 1989, associated with Pittsburgh, PA firms where primary focus was litigating plaintiff personal injury, claimant workers’ compensation and social security disability.

-1989 embarked as a sole practitioner in Pittsburgh, PA with a general practice which has evolved into current practice, which is limited to Allegheny County..

-has served on the Edgewood Borough Zoning Board, deciding zoning cases and writing opinions, since 2004.

-has served as solicitor to the City of Pittsburgh Equipment Leasing Authority, doing contract review, "enforcement" and other matters, since 2006.
